*Extras are the items that you can send to your pen pals along with the letter*
This is my first pen pal themed post!
1. Bookmarks
These are especially good for your pen pals who like to read! Bookmarks are very customizable, so you can add all sorts of cool designs. Quotes or little doodles are some of my favorite things to add to bookmarks.
Here are some ideas (I did NOT make these. Credit to original owners):
2. Photocards/Photos
If your pen pal is into photography, you could send a few photos that you have taken yourself! Pictures of your pen pal's favorite characters, singers, actors, animals, etc. are sure to be appreciated.

3. Stationery
*Share some of your favorite washi tapes with you pen pals! It is a great ways to get a huge variety of washi tapes without having to spend a ton on money. It's also fun to surprise your penpals with fun colors and patterns on washi tapes.
*Stickers and memo sheets/sticky notes are also cute and fun things to add to your letters, especially if your pen pal is a stationery enthusiast!
*Occasionally, you could add one of your favorite brands/types of pens or markers in with your letters as a small gift.
4. Face Masks
These are great for your pen pals that are interested in beauty or just want to keep their skin clear and moisturized. Share your favorite masks!
5. Literature
If you are someone that enjoys writing, including a part of your story in letters is a great way to keep your pen pal engaged in excited to open your letters. Also, you get a new and fresh pair of eyes to critique your story, making it better than ever!
6. Artwork
As an artistic person myself, I like to include little doodles or sketches of things for my pen pals. I also draw them fanart of their favorite shows and stories (like books, movies, animes, or webcomics) and their favorite people. Your pen pal will be so excited to find this small and simple gift in their letters.
7. Games
Challenge your pen pal to a game of tic-tac-toe or add a riddle/brain puzzle to your letters. You can also create a drawing together. First, fold a piece of paper in half and draw one half of the character. Leave the other half of the paper blank. This is where the other half of the character your pen pal will draw is going to be. Put the paper in your letter with instructions stating that your pen pal is not supposed to look at the other side. Once the other half is finished, your pen pal can take a picture and send it to you, or put it into their next letter so that you can see the final result. For a more long term drawing game, you can add one feature to a character at one time. This is more time consuming because each time you can ONLY ADD ONE FEATURE (like hair, or one eye, or one hand, or one leg (that doesn't include the foot))
These are only a few ideas for pen pal extras, if you have anymore, feel free to leave a comment!
